Automotive Upholstery

My friend Rick needs help at his shop so I’m going over to work with him for a while again today. I tore a bucket seat apart for him yesterday. Putting an after market seat cover on a seat does not make one an upholsterer, automotive upholstery and seats and interiors are very complex. I’m surprised at the components in them.

In a shop a person has to take apart complex seat and spring assemblies, inspect everything and repair or replace components as needed, it’s a lot of work. Just taking one seat apart yesterday made a blister on one of my fingers as I had to cut a few hundred hog rings in half. And some of them are not easy to get to.

The one I took apart had so many busted springs that Rick has to find another seat to use, or use some of the components from. Sometimes he has to make some of his own components.

It’s interesting helping him but I don’t think I would be able to be a good upholsterer. But that’s okay, he is an expert at that and he will put them back together, it helps him to just have me take things apart for him.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Climate experts issued their starkest warning yet about the impact of global warming, ranging from hunger in Africa to a fast thaw in the Himalayas, in a report on Friday that increased pressure on governments to act.

I'm sure that more people don't care than do care. Wants and greeds are like that. Plenty of people will still travel and shop this week-end.

There is global warming on every planet in our solar system right now as measured by NASA that is equivalent of what is going on here on earth.

I don't think humans are having a significant impact. Actually things were hotter in the 1630's

Just ten years ago think tanks were screaming about the coming ice age.

In actuality, there are a bunch of socialists that want to shut down the worlds economy at any cost.

Notice no one is pressuring China and India that are polluting at a much higher rate?

Not sure what they hope to achieve

Hi Billy,

The post I posted today was a very difficult one for me to write. I'm very hurt and confused that your last two comments on my blog have been, essentially, personal attacks on me. I don't believe I've ever been anything but the soul of graciousness towards you. My blog, my home, is a place of inclusion. There are many, many blogs out there where one is welcome to be as mean, hateful and spiteful as once choses to be. My blog is not one of them. It is not a place for debate and I expect my commenters to be as mannerly as they would be in real life, if not more so.

I'm asking you very nicely to please not be the reason that the SMB has to go on moderation for the first time.
