Got distracted yesterday with the six weird things, and reading about others on their blogs. So back to the post I was already working on, this will be a bit long.….
I’ve changed the following notice you see on some sites to suit myself, yeah, I would, wouldn’t I.
….
FAIR USE NOTICE: This site may contain copyrighted material the use of which has not always been specifically authorized by the copyright owner, whoever in the hell that may be, or taking claim for it. Others post it, I use it, get over it, copyrights are a thing of the past. Too many people think that they have had an original thought and want to protect it. Ha!! Don’t post it then, cuz if I like it I’m taking a copy of it. The material in this site is provide for our, education, entertainment and amusement. Heat rises, no shit, have I ever lied to you? As a curious person and tinkerer and inventor these things interest me. So lets look at some temperatures in my place being as I like to mess with such things. It currently is 36.4 degrees outside with a light rain. At floor level it is 50.5 degrees (this is why there is a heat lamp under my desk), on my desktop it is 72.5 degrees, at the ceiling it is 80.6 degrees. From floor to ceiling there is a difference of 30.1 degrees, didn’t expect that much of a difference did you? So if you want to warm up, hang around on the ceiling for a while. Years ago you could buy a tube like thing (about four inches) that had a little blower in it that moved the heat from the ceiling down to the floor. I haven’t seen one for sale for years, and I don’t know how effective they were, but it seems like a good idea. Maybe I will make one and find out. The big ceiling fans are okay, but not that great. Yes, heat rises, and life is like a can of mixed nuts, the big ones work their way to the top.

I’ve said for years that the school systems are doing and teaching a lot of stupid things, don’t get me started on that right now. Two teenagers died here the other day. Sixteen year olds, of carbon monoxide poisoning. In an area where the electricity was out for days. Someone had a generator running in a garage of all places, they went in to fill it with fuel and never came back out alive. They should have known better, schools should be teaching life skills, how to fucking stay alive. And don’t give me that shit that it should be up to the parents to teach kids those things, there are a lot of stupid parents on this planet. Or they don’t take the time to teach their kids what they need to know. Hell, it was probably a stupid adult that put the generator in the garage. I swear, I’m surrounded by fucking idiots. Boy, if I ran this planet kids would be learning a lot more than they are instead of screwing around with football and other stupid things.

I had to go to town yesterday, bad roads or not. It was dollar day at the laundromat and we like to keep the sheets clean at Polly’s Honky Tonk Saloon and Whorehouse. The main roads were in decent shape but everything else and the parking lots are still crap. My pile of cinder blocks are under a pile of snow and froze together and I wanted some weight in the bed of the truck for better traction. Well, I had lots of snow so I filled the bed with it. Some idiot in a pickup with no weight in it was trying to get up the driveway to the liquor store, I got tired of waiting for him as he screwed around so I went around and went down the ally.

Front wheel drive automobiles get around pretty well on slick roads, until they have to stop, it can get iffy then, I’ve had them spin around on me as they are so light in the rear. One thing that most people don’t think about is to slip trans into neutral when trying to stop on ice. You can keep a little better control when the wheels aren’t still trying to drive the rig. Never mind that your foot isn’t on the gas, the engine is still trying to drive the wheels some. Try it and you will see what I mean.

More on that subject of love and sex.
Nick.. I like my women just a little on the vain side. I enjoy (or don’t mind) a little makeup on a lady. I think that women should be just vain enough to want to look as good as she can, as long as she isn’t obsessed with it and spending tons of money doing it. Hell, I can’t imagine them not plucking or trimming their eyebrows if they should, even I primp some, being such a handsome monkey ya know. And lipstick, yeah, put it on, I like to try to take it off. Love that lipstick…. :-)
….
I love earrings, they add a nice touch, even small tasteful tattoos, but what is with six or seven frigging rings on the fingers? Some of them are so gaudy. I sing a song at karaoke at times when I can find it, it’s something like “I like my women just a little on the shady side.” I can’t wear jewelry, it drives me nuts having something strange on my body, my watch hangs from a belt loop. Hell, sometimes my clothes touching me bugs me.
….
Sewmouse.. This lady over in Everbarf, is she one of those women that thinks she has to have complete control of the situation every minute? I’ve known women like that, good luck with that, relationships are a mixture of give and take, flexibility. They can’t be played out according to a rock solid plan on the one party’s part.
….
There was something else about this subject but my mind has wandered so I’ll get back to it later. Gotta go surf some blogs and news sites now, be careful out there, it’s a violent planet.

Peace, love, hugs. BBC

From live science…. The longstanding advice to "sit up straight" has been turned on its head by a new study that suggests leaning back is a much better posture. Researchers analyzed different postures and concluded that the strain of sitting upright for long hours is a perpetrator of chronic back problems. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
Yeah, yeah, tell me something I didn’t already know. And exercise your back and legs or you will always have back and nerve problems.
Adding to that.
If you want to protect it, don’t post it on the web you idiot, because now it belongs to us.
I used to own a Dodge Neon. The car was so perfectly balanced that if you hit an icy spot just right you would spin around like a pinwheel. All you could do was hang on and wait for it to end. I think my record was five full spins.
I have been reading your blog and WTF, you are the only blog that I can post a comment on, besdies mine. WTF.
Yes, with a God in evolution anything is possible.....
are we having fun....I am....
JimmyJames.. That's odd that you can't post on other blogs. Yup, I'm having fun, when I'm not fussing about this fucked up world. I hate the way they raise us here.
5000.. The lady I lived with for twelve years had a Toyota Tercel, damn good little car, but I spun it around a few times.
One time in the summer, on a steal grated bridge in West Seattle when a crazy lady coming from the other direction caused a scattering of cars coming at me.
I smacked the brakes and the car did a 180 and smacked up against the curb and bent the left rear wheel.
Actually, that was the best thing that could have happened as the other cars went by us without hitting the Toyota.
A professor at the University of Idaho was giving a lecture of the supernatural. To get a feel for his audience, he asks, "How many people here believe in ghosts?" About 90 students raise their hands. "Well, that's a good start. Out of those of you who believe in ghosts, do any of you think you have seen a ghost?"
About 40 students raise their hands. "That's really good. I'm really glad you take this seriously.
Has anyone here ever talked to a ghost?" About 15 students raise their hand. "Has anyone here ever touched a ghost?" 3 students raise their hands. "That's fantastic. Now let me ask you one question further "Have any of you ever had sex with a ghost?"
Way in the back, Bubba raises his hand. The professor takes off his glasses, and says "Son, all the years I've been giving this lecture, no one has ever claimed to have had sex with a ghost. You've got to come up here and tell us about your experience." The big redneck student replied with a nod and a grin, and began
to make his way up to the podium. When he reached the front of the room, the professor asks, "So, Bubba, tell us what it's like to have sex with a ghost?" Bubba replied, "Shiiiit! From way back thar I thought you said Goats."
I like a good redneck joke. Thanks.....**swipe**
Sweetie, I'm not going to answer your question, not because of the question itself, but I don't feel comfortable discussing the particulars of a friend's life in a public forum. Just like if Helen had some things that she had told you that you'd embarass her terribly if you posted them... They're not my secrets - not my place to share them, ok?
Suffice it to say that this person is an exceptionally complex individual (as are many of us!) and has made it to 65 - and will more than likely outlive ME!
Helen's known me for about seven years now. She's gotten over my 'embarrassing' her and the things I say about her. But she is an exceptional woman.
well you DO have a knack for pissing people off
too bad they take you seriously...grin
temps cold here today - had a cold-front come thru -- woke up to 27 degrees...hope my lettuce made it thru...it's on the porch and i live in a valley so maybe it did
stay warm and safe my friend..
You can't piss someone off unless they allow you too. :-)
I think lettuce can make it though 27 if it doesn't stay that low too long. Hugs.
Ya know, that's the whole damn problem, people don't take me seriously on some subjects.
"I’ve said for years that the school systems are doing and teaching a lot of stupid things,"
Well I won't take this comment personal because the shoe doesn't fit. Granted the system is not intended for all the students personal needs. But as long as I have between 35 - 36 students in my classroom, it's hard to tend to everyone's need in a personal matter.
Well I'm a leo..we are proud individuals, we like to look good but that doesn't necessarily mean wearing make up. I like mascara and a little gloss. Natural is the way to go otherwise if one day you have to go out without..people don't recognize you and they get scared!!! ;-)
I must admit.. I absolutely LOVE jewellery.. ;-) I can't stop in a jewellery store or else... ;-) Hey I'm not perfect you know.. I have my whole life to work on improving..that's what we're here for, right?
"it’s a violent planet" You can say that again.. look how violent your picture looks.. it's still freaken me out!!!
Have a nice day... oxoxoxoxox
a generator in a garage. lordy. i'm with you on the school tip, 1000%! but then again, theyre' not wanting to turn out thinkers, they're wanting to turn out drones that will do the crappy jobs that will fill their lives with stress and strife until they die with not a cent to their names. sorry. i'm fairly cynical about schools and the system. :) sad. sad.
your fair use notice!!!! ROFLMAO!!!!!
Hey...where's Nick? ???
Got me, I overwhelm him at times, and leave him speechless. LOL
I'm off to Beer Church, catch up with ya later.
yes, it is weird that I can post here and no where else.
Here, no problem, and other bogs - no dice.
It is kind of irritating.
Yes, I like quotes. Nowadays, alll these new authors are taking what some one else said, requoting it, and saying it is their own. Just doing what a cow does, chewing on a cud and passing it on in another form.
Thanks for stopping by
I have to disagree with you on copyright when it comes to artistic works. At least, I think you should give people credit for original work. The issue isn't about original ideas, though, it's about form of expression. I do agree that there are a lot of problems with the current system, though.
People expecting the schools to teach children things that they should be learning from their parents is one of the problems I see over here. I'm sorry those parents with the generator had to go through the trauma of losing their children...but on the plus side, at least they were teenagers and probably hadn't managed to pass on their dumb genes yet. Darwinianism in action, IMO.
I don't take you seriously at all.
Ron, if you think you have something to say and want to make some money on it. Write a book and sell it.
Post it on the web and it becomes a part of the collective consciousness.
Copyrights are fast becoming a thing of the past other than for technical writings, get the fuck over it. Times change. Hugs.
Ron, it's not dumb genes, it's dumb parents and teaching systems.
Oh hell, you teach in a university, you are going to defend what you think.
Oh hell, you teach in a university, you are going to defend what you think.
Only if you fail to convince me that what I think is wrong.
Developments in technology enabling greater access to information and knowledge haven't changed one basic "moral" fact: it's dishonest to pass off as your own something that someone else has made, whether you profit from it or not.
As for the genetics, we're not all "created" equal. There may not really be any "dumb genes", but there are people who haven't been equipped by nature to deal with certain the aspects of the modern world. You can't blame parents or schools for people who don't realize that a gasoline-powered generator is going to poison the air in a confined space. They're stupid and should never have had children. The world has corrected their mistake.
I'll have to come back to that one.. my brain still needs to fuel up a little more on coffee.. ;-)
Indeed there are crazies, dumbies, crazy-stupies (like me) and a whole bunch more out there.. BEWARE!
Hey..why don't you get yourself a cute little cbox.. ;-) oxoxox
Where are those beer church pictures? ;-))))
Yeah, you are a bit overwhelming at times.....
but now I'm overwhelmed with work and running club activities, but i'm still checking in on you.
Later on, dude
I tend to agree with you about schools not teaching life skills. Kids are not even taught money management or other things that they need to know like basic skills in child raising. Heck, with all the illegitimate births these days I'm not sure they teach them want causes those and how to prevent it.
I read about those boys in The Seattle Times and felt bad for them. Every winter someone dies from something related to this type of thing. More common than the generator thing is people burning charcoal to keep warm when the power is out.
BTW I love Port Angeles. I have many fond memories as a kid of summers spent on my Aunt and Uncle's farm just outside of town.
To answer your question, no. I am not one of those people who feels she has to be in control all the time. I gave up on relationships years ago to save my own life.
What Sew would have told you had she felt free to answer is that I have two problems, if you consider them problems. First of all, I am a bit hard to get to know, particularly if you don't take the time to even talk to me. In other words, I don't let strangers too close too fast. The second problem is that I absolutely refuse to play the stupid games that are apparently required to even get someone to talk to you.
The way it was described to me was something like this: Look at the guy. Look away. Look back to see if he's looking at you. If he is, give a little half smile, count to 2 and look away. And it goes on like this for about half a page. I would feel like a damned fool acting like that even if I were in a situation that "required" it. To me that's game playing and I don't play games.
If you had to sum up my "problem" it's that I am very direct. I expect others to be so as well, and the quickest way to lose my interest is to insist I play silly games before you'll talk to me one adult to another. I don't flirt. I don't know how. If I did know how I would consider it blatantly dishonest since there is no way I would know if I found you attractive in that way until I had talked to you at length. For me at any rate, your intelligence and sense of humor are much more important than looks. So are shared interests. I guess I just don't know how to be as superficial as is required these days. And as I said, I abandoned any hope of relationships many many years ago in the interest of remaining alive.
Hi, Leandra.
When you were in school, did they teach you about "life skills"? Money management and child-raising? I can see the first as an extension of Math and Econ, but the latter? When did that sort of thing become the responsibility of schools?
As for unwanted pregnancies, I'll bet you that the people who try to keep human reproductive biology (sex education) out of the schools are the same idiots telling their own kids at home, "Abstain! Abstain! Think about sweet Jayzus on the cross!"
It makes no sense to me to expect schools to take up the slack for bad parents. Put the blame where it belongs and let teachers do what they're supposed to: teach children how to read and write comprehensibly, do Math and Science and think logically, and use information media and technology to find answers to their own questions.
